The Giving Christmas Tree

Once again our Goya is organizing a Giving Tree, however this year is a bit different. We are working with an organization called Lighthouse Mission based in North Bellport, NY.  The Lighthouse Mission not only provides a safe haven children and their families, providing guidance and alternatives to drugs and gang membership.  They provide a a place to learn about God and for their hearts to turn toward Christ, potentially changing the future for these children.
The pastor at the Lighthouse Mission, in the spirit of giving, asked the teens that come to the Mission, what they would like to give as a Christmas gift to a family member.  Additionally, the Lighthouse Mission provides a shopping mall for parents in need to shop free of charge for their children.  Each year the table with gifts for teens is sparse.  Our Goya is helping to fill the Christmas wishes of these teens by placing gifts and items for these two initiatives on the ornaments on the tree in the narthex.
Please consider helping to make the Christmas of these underprivileged teens a bit brighter by purchasing one of the items on the ornaments and leaving the gift unwrapped* under the tree.  Or, if you are not able to shop, please consider making a donation to the church marked “Giving Tree”.  Additionally, if there is something else you would like to donate; a toy, winter coat, sweatshirt of any size or color, or anything you feel led to give, put them under the tree and we will bring these items to the shopping mall for parents to give to their children.
We request unwrapped gifts because our Goyans will have the opportunity to deliver the gifts to the teens and help them wrap them, we will have also been invited to help to set up the shopping mall at Lighthouse Mission
Thank you and Merry Christmas!
