This Brooklyn born, Greek American has lived in Greece and once led the Greek-American Women’s Organization of Greece. Having captured traditional recipes of their ancestors, she and her team have created two world-class Greek pastry shops in NY. Regina loves sharing her Greek Heritage and her love for Mediterranean cuisine. She will be in the Bakaliko on Friday, offering us a taste of some of her signature savory baked goods, paired with cheese and olives. Greek hospitality, at its finest.

Maria’s Loi’s NYC restaurant, Estiatoria, is famous. It exemplifies the traditions of the Greek table. Maria is also a 4th generation yogurt maker, a tradition she learned from her Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother. She considers Yogurt to be one of the pillars of a healthful diet, and explains the benefits of this traditional greek staple in her new book, The Greek Diet. She will be offering tastes of yogurt, with the traditional topping of Spoon Sweets, and conducting a book signing on Saturday, in the Bakaliko. You won’t want to miss meeting Maria.

Mentis Estate Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Mantis Family Farm, Laconia, Greece
With groves of over 100 years old, Anastasios is a third generation producer. (His 80 year old Mother is the main producer.) The oil is of the Athenolia olive variety, hand picked and traditionally pressed. He will be joining us on Sunday, conducting an olive oil tasting, and selling his Olive Oil. The tradition continues.
In addition to the Bakaliko activities, festival attendees will have the chance to enjoy genuine Greek hospitality. Delicious nome-made food and pastries. Nightly performances by the Hamptons Hellenic Dancers. Live Greek music. Pony rides. And much more.
