Family Day This Sunday!

Hi Everybody! We hope that all of the youth of our Church Family had a great start of the School Year this Week! This Sunday is Family Day at the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Church, and it is the start of our Sunday School Program for the 2014-2015 Ecclesiastical Year! We have a wonderful day planned! We hope that everyone will come to participate in the Divine Liturgy and enjoy the activities. A few highlights of what’s in store are:
– Steven Christoforou, Youth Protection and Parish Ministries Coordinator of the National Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry and producer of the Be the Bee Video Series will offer a youth sermon after the reading of the Gospel (make sure you’re here on time to hear it).
– Sunday School Registration and First Day of Sunday School Classes. Classes start right after communion. Students are asked to sit with their class in the first few pews on the left row.
-Steven will also guest teach our Senior (grades 9 – 12) Sunday School Class.
-Photo Scavenger hunt – back to school and good deeds. Bring some kind of digital camera, the one on a smart phone or tablet will work! (you have to come to find out more)
– Petting Zoo for all the children of our parish to interact with the animals
– Fried Chicken Lunch Offered for all
– Informational Table about the Language and Culture Institute of the Hamptons and our Youth Ministry Programs for this year.
Please see the attached flyers for more detail. Can’t wait to see you this Sunday to worship together and kick off our Sunday School and Youth Ministry programs!
