Kimisis Tis Theotokou offers a wide variety of programs for the young people of the parish.
Our HOPE (ages 4-7) and JOY (ages 8-12) programs gather monthly for activities including: attending spiritual retreats, assembling school packs for OCMC, decorating quilts for Orthodox children in Mexico, participating in the Direct Archdiocesan District Olympics, apple picking in the Fall, baking Christmas cookies for the parish, monthly meetings and craft projects, and attending the end of the year barbeque.
HOPE and JOY events are often divided into age appropriate groups so that the ministry more appropriately meets the needs of our youth.
Our GOYA (ages 13-18) program gathers twice a month for meetings and activities including: organizing holiday food and clothing drives (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Pascha), assisting with HOPE and JOY activities, participating in Lenten services, assembling Health Packs for OCMC to benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina and Rita, arranging a barbeque fundraiser for philanthropic activities and social events, taking part in the Direct Archdiocesan District Olympics and InterGOYA events, attending a Superbowl party and end of the year barbeque/bonfire on the beach, and participating in a once a year overnight excursion to another state.
