A fine art exhibition featuring the work of established and up and coming Greek Artists aims to present a vision of Modern Greek life and culture opens August 8 at The Muses in Southampton.
Greek Colors will explore contemporary artists and their masterful depictions of the illuminated, inexorable Greek Spirit.
The renowned artists are inspired by Greece’s intense light, vivid colors, mythic landscapes, and the endless, magical seas of blue. Each contemporary artist has lived the challenge to transform the daily crisis of present Greece into a personal and harmonious, visual statement. 60 artworks from 21 Greek artists will travel to the Hamptons to demonstrate the current face of Modern Greek painting.
At an extremely difficult political time in Greece’s history, and under adverse financial circumstances, “Greek Colors” is a reminder of the beauty, excellence, and perseverance of, as Will Durant rightfully described, “The Morningstar of the Western World.”
“Greek Colors” is presented by the Greek Orthodox Church of the Hamptons along with the collaborative support of the Greek artists themselves. The East End Community at large and visitors are invited to visit this important and beautiful exhibition.
The exhibition “Greek Colors” will take place at The Muses, 111 Saint Andrews Rd., Southampton, NY. Grand opening and reception August 6. Duration of Exhibit August 6 to September 8, 2015. Gallery Hours 11:30am-6:00pm. Admission is free.
