Church Feast Day

Please be reminded that we will be celebrating our feast day, The Dormition of the Virgin Mary, on August 14 and 15.  Vespers on the 14th will be at 7:00 PM with a reception to follow hosted by our Philoptochos.  On the 15th, Divine Liturgy will begin at 10:00 AM, preceded by Orthros at 8:30.  A luncheon will follow Divine Liturgy in the Muses.

His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios Geron of America will preside at the Divine Liturgy on Wednesday, August 15th.

Most of us have now heard of the devastating fires that have ravaged the Greek countryside.  Many have been killed or injured during this horrific natural disaster, and the people of Greece will be recovering from this summer’s fires for months to come.  As we see the distress of our brothers and sisters, it is our calling and obligation to do what we can to help.  We have decided that 100% of the proceeds from our Feast Day Luncheon this year will be dedicated to fire relief in Greece.

Specifically, we will be helping to rebuild one of the vital institutions in Attica, Greece, the Holy Trinity  Monastery which was completely destroyed along with its Lyreio Orphanage, School and Old Age Home which lost all of its vehicles and several of its buildings.  The funds will be donated to The Critical Relief for Children Network, and 100% of donations will go to the Monastery, Orphanage, School and Old Age Home.

RSVP IS REQUIRED for the luncheon.  Please RSVP by Tuesday, August 7 to celebrate our Feast Day and to help victims of the wildfires in Greece as a Church Family.  See the attached flyer for further details on the Feast Day Celebration and visit www.crcnetwork.org to learn more about the Critical Relief for Children Network.
