St. Anna Philoptochos Update

Did you know that in 1944, National Philoptochos purchased property in Garrison, NY to establish the St. Basil’s Academy?  The Academy celebrates its 75th Anniversary this year.  Since 1991, Philoptochos chapters throughout the USA have contributed over $10 million to St. Basil’s Academy.  St. Basil’s provides a safe, loving, Orthodox home for children whose parents, for various reasons, have become unable to care for them.

Pre-sanctified Liturgies begin on March 13 – followed by Orthodoxy 101 and a light Lenten supper. If you would like to prepare a meal for one of the Wednesday evenings, please contact Melina Angelson (631) 334-6129.

Mark your calendars! On March 17th the ladies of the Philotptochos will be hosting the annual Fasoulada Luncheon after Sunday of Orthodoxy Liturgy.  Proceeds from the Event will go to benefit St. Michael’s Home for the Aged.  Please join our Church family for this wonderful tradition.

Our Feed the Hungry program has been extended through April. Our next dinners, in cooperation with Maureen’s Haven at the Southampton Methodist Church, will be served on Monday, Mar. 4th and Mar. 25th.  Everyone is invited to join us. If you are interested in helping out, please contact Melina Angelson (631)334-6129.

We would like, once again, to thank you to all for your participation in our projects. We couldn’t promote our charitable and philanthropic endeavors without the support of our Church family.
