Orthodoxy 101 lecture series begins March 9

A new lecture series will take place immediately after PreSanctified Liturgies. It will last approximately 30-40 minutes followed by an opportunity for questions and answers along with a Lenten meal.

Session I: March 9
Scripture and Story of Salvation
An overview of God’s promise to His people as it unfolds in scripture. Major themes to include the Fall of Human Kind, the Law and the Prophets, the Promised Messiah, the Kingdom to Come.

Session II: March 16
Incarnation of Christ
A close look at our understanding of who Christ is and what his birth, death, and resurrection mean for the world… and you.

Session III: March 30
Iconography
An overview of icons in the church, their history, theology, and practical use in the spiritual life.

Session IV: April 6
Divine Liturgy
A discussion on the Eucharist, corporate prayer, and PARTICIPATING in the Liturgy.

Session V: April 13
Spiritual Practice
Practical discussion on the Hows and Whys of prayer and fasting.
